The Hospital Homebound Program serves students with acute or chronic illnesses that are so severe that the students’ physicians recommend that they be confined to the home and that they are unable to attend school for a time-limited period. The program uses a referral-based program, that begins with the parent/guardian reaching out to the school to request a referral form. This initiates the parent/guardian’s involvement from the very beginning. The program supports students with core courses that are targeted at preparing for success and transition to their zoned school. Various options, based on each student’s age and abilities, help students remain engaged in school and meet Florida standards.
Contributions to the Hospital Homebound Program Fund can be made at any time. The Fund can receive gifts via cash, check (payable to FOCPS) or credit card, in one payment or multiple installments throughout the school year. Please write Hospital Homebound in the memo section. Checks should be mailed to the Foundation for Orange County Public Schools, 445 West Amelia Street, Orlando, FL 32801.
The Hospital Homebound Program Fund will maintain a separate account at the Foundation for Orange County Public Schools available only to the Hospital Homebound Program; it will be tax deductible as a contribution to a 501(c)(3) organization with transparency and full disclosure.
