East River HS Band Fund

Over the past decade, the East River High School Band Program has been recognized across the state for musical excellence in marching band, concert band, jazz ensemble, percussion, chamber music, and color guard. Our students work extremely hard to balance difficult academic requirements, their involvement in the band program, their other school clubs and activities, and their out-of-school commitments. 

As our program continues to expand in size and community impact, we need your help. Having the support of our local businesses, organizations, and families is vital with mitigating those costs and ensuring all students, inclusive of those needing financial assistance, can participate without restrictions.

Unlike traditional clubs and activities that certainly develop skills within the classroom or on a playing field, band is a unique opportunity for students to truly cultivate life, social and business skills designed to help them excel far beyond high school. Our students are learning critical transferable skills - creativity, teamwork, attention to detail and critical thinking, which will position them to become our future leaders.

The Fund is overseen by a Board of Directors composed of parents and community members, working together with the Principal and band staff at East River High School. 

Contributions to the Band Fund can be made at any time.  The Fund can receive gifts via cash, check (payable to FOCPS) or credit card, in one payment or multiple installments throughout the school year. Checks should be mailed to the Foundation for Orange County Public Schools, 445 West Amelia Street, Orlando, FL. 32801.  In the memo section please write East River Band.

The Fund will maintain a separate account at the Foundation for Orange County Public Schools available only to the East River HS Band; it will be tax deductible as a contribution to a 501(c)(3) organization with transparency and full disclosure.
