Tori Sheahan always made sure her patients got the care, medicine, education and social services they needed. Children and their families benefited from her medical knowledge, as well as from her kindness and compassion.
She worked with Healthcare Providers of Florida—a group of nurse practitioners providing school-based health care for the underserved in Central Florida from 2000-2015.
As the School Nursing Initiative Coordinator for the Winter Park Consortium of Schools, she supervised, mentored and supported school nurses in Winter Park High School and all its elementary and middle feeder schools, and she also staffed the Glenridge Middle School-Based Health Center.
Winter Park Health Foundation honored her legacy by establishing a memorial fund in her name at the Foundation for Orange County Public Schools in 2015.
The fund is used to provide medical supplies and health education resources to school-based health centers in the Winter Park Consortium of Schools and for a "Kindness and Compassion" cash award to a graduating Winter Park High School senior who has been recognized by the high school faculty and administration to exemplify these characteristics.
If you would like to continue to support the memorial fund, please consider making a tax-deductible donation.Donations to the fund, at the Foundation for Orange County Public Schools (OCPS), can be made in two ways:
