About Pamela Carson

Pamela Carson has dedicated 35 years to Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) in Orlando, Florida. Since 1999, she has overseen the Community Outreach programs, which include managing over 76,000 school volunteers, 2,900 business partners, and developing the districtwide Alumni Relations program. With two district managers, 750 school-based administrators, and 22 alumni ambassadors, the department facilitates recruitment, program development, and recognition efforts across OCPS. In 2015, under her leadership, OCPS launched a cutting-edge online system for registering and screening volunteers and partners.

Pamela has also managed Central Florida’s second-largest employee recognition events, honoring over 7,400 OCPS staff annually. These events transformed into grand ballroom celebrations, featuring awards, door prizes, and contributions from community partners.

A graduate of Florida A&M University, Pamela made history as the interim volleyball coach who led her team to a MEAC Conference title in 1988. Her achievements include the Adele Graham Award for innovation in Florida’s school volunteer program (2010) and the Phi Delta Kappa Community Engagement Award (2017). She is a former advisory member of the Florida Department of Education and an ex-officio member of the OCPS Superintendent Faith-based Advisory Council. In 1982, she was named Female Athlete of the Year at New Smyrna Beach High School.
