Teach-In 2010

Wednesday, November 17

Engaging the business community in educational excellence.
Preparing students for the future.

Each November, in celebration of American Education Week, the Foundation brings business and civic leaders into the classrooms – in a fun and engaging way -- to talk with students about academics, careers and the future.

Teach-In is made possible by the generous support of Bank of America and the Orlando Sentinel, who provide financial and in-kind support for the program.

Since the Teach-In's establishment in 1991, it has brought thousands of volunteer speakers into classrooms each year.  This personal interaction has proven to be an invaluable learning opportunity for students and, for business people, a way to help prepare and nurture the future workforce.

Prospective Volunteer?  Read more ...
You can read a book, share an educational experience or your career, talk about a favorite vacation, hobby, or how a special teacher touched your life.

Can we count on you to give one hour or more of your time for public education?

To register to be a 'Teacher for a Day' during Teach-In 2010, download the Volunteer Registration Form, complete and return to the Foundation office.  We can assist in matching you to the school or school area of your choice, and you will be contacted directly by the school's Teach-In coordinator regarding your assignment.

The earlier you register, the better chance you will be placed at the school of your choice.  Registration deadline through the Foundation is November 1, 2010.
