Perceptions on Teaching Quality Community Survey
In August, Count Me In! released its report on community perceptions on the quality of teaching in Orange County Public Schools. The input from this report was gathered from 16 community conversations with parents, students, principals, teachers and other interested community members between February and May of 2009.

As a follow-up to this report, we would now like to broaden our outreach by gathering additional community feedback on this important topic. The following survey is designed to capture your thoughts around the key findings in the report. The survey should take approximately 5 minutes to complete, and all answers are anonymous.

Family and Community Involvement – Volunteers Needed!
You may remember that the other community identified priority from the Count Me In! Agreement is family and community involvement. A Place for Families is an outgrowth of the Count Me In! Steering Committee and its mission is focused on identifying school-based, family partnerships that advance student achievement. A Place for Families is currently looking for committed volunteers to help accomplish this mission.
As a member of a team, volunteers will help collect data on OCPS schools that excel in involving families in the education of their students. Using a Family and Community Involvement Inventory tool based on research from the National Network of Partnership Schools at Johns Hopkins University, volunteers will record and code the responses of school administrators, teachers, parents, and stakeholders obtained during on-campus interviews.
Prior to being sent into the field, volunteers will receive training and meet their fellow teammates. For more information or to register to volunteer, please contact Heath Wells at heath.wells@ocps.net or 407.317.3261.
